Cooked Raw bananas form a good side dish to go along with Rice and rotis.
Here is the easiest side dish made out of raw bananas.
Ingredients:
One large or two small raw bananas
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder -1/2 tsp
Cumin/Jeera powder – 1/2 tsp
Crushed Pepper – 1/3 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil for cooking – 2-3 tablespoons
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Method:
Peel the raw bananas. Remove only the green portion.
Cut the banana into round slices. Add the salt, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, crushed pepper, chilli powder and mix well onto the slices.
Let this marinate for 30 mins.
Heat a small to medium sized Kadhai.
Add the oil and once hot add the cumin seeds. When cumin seeds become a bit darker in colour then add the banana slices.
Mix well and cover the Kadhai.
Keep stirring every few minutes till both sides of the banana slices become darker in colour.
Once the slices become soft then fry for a few more minutes till there is a crisp effect on the slices.
Now it is ready to eat. It tastes best when eaten with hot rice and daal.
Cooks in approximately 10 mins.
